Committees

NNOHA has several committees that work on the objectives of the organization and support the high-priority issues of the members. These standing committees include:

Membership & Advocacy

Co Chairs: Pat Mason-Dozier, DDS & Tina Sopiwnik, DMD

Description: This joint committee identifies high-priority issues that benefit from NNOHA involvement or commentary and works with key partners to affect positive change for oral health. It also encourages the growth of NNOHA membership; oversees communications tools for members such as the newsletter and website; and disseminates innovative resources and evidence-based approaches to oral health.

Annual Conference Planning Committee

Chair: Steven Geiermann, DDS

Description: This committee plans and oversees the successful coordination of NNOHA’s annual conference.

Practice Management

Co-Chairs: Scott Wolpin, DMD and Ethan Kerns, DDS

Description: This committee develops practice management resources to assist health center oral health programs in being more efficient, effective, and productive. It reviews existing resources and best practices, shares information with the membership, and serves as content experts to assist NNOHA staff and members

Membership for the following committees is limited to current members of the Board of Directors:

Executive Committee

Chair: Janet Bozzone, DMD, MPH, FAGD

Description: This commitee, comprised of the NNOHA president, president-elect, treasures and secretary, provides general organizational oversight, in concert with the Executive Director.

Finance

Chair: Allen Patterson, CGMA, CPA, FACMPE, MHA

Description: This committee provides financial oversight, evaluation and guidance on budgetary and fiscal matters. It is comprised of the Treasurer(chair) and three additional members, one from each expiring class of Directors.

Finance Subcommittee: Compensation Committee

Chair: Janet Bozzone, DMD, MPH, FAGD

Description: This subcommittee assists the Board in establishing, monitoring, reviewing and revising, at least annually, the salary and benefits packages for the employees and contractors of the organization; recommends periodic bonuses for the Organization’s staff; and sets annual performance guidelines for the Executive Director and conducts and annual performance evaluation based on the established guidelines.
