Phillip Thompson, Executive Director (ext. 6)

About: Phillip Thompson has served as NNOHA’s third executive director since June 2014. Prior experience includes serving as a chief financial officer for a community health center in Denver, Colorado.  Before joining the CHC world Phillip worked in behavioral health administration at Children’s Hospital Colorado, and ambulatory care management at University of Colorado Hospital.  A native of Fort Worth, Phillip has degrees in history and healthcare administration respectively from Baylor and Trinity Universities in Texas.

Dr. Irene Hilton, Dental Consultant (ext. 4)

About: Irene Hilton, DDS, MPH served on the Board of Directors for six years before becoming NNOHA’s Dental Consultant in 2011. She is also a staff dentist at the San Francisco Department of Health.

Contact for: Technical assistance, especially in the areas of clinical topics, oral health integration, and safety-net program promising practices.

Amy Whipple Derrick, Project Director (ext. 5)

About:  Amy has a Master of Arts in Education and a Bachelors of Science in Social Work. She comes to NNOHA with 22 years of non-profit experience including program development, leadership training, project management, event planning, community education, advocacy, fund raising, and cross cultural relations.

Candace Owen, Education Director (ext. 9)

About: Candace has been a registered dental hygienist since 2013. She has a Master in Public Health and a Master in Dental Hygiene from the University of New Mexico. Before working with NNOHA, Candace served as faculty for the University of New Mexico Department of Dental Medicine. Some of her faculty experience includes Special Care Dentistry, Medical Emergencies in the Dental Office, and Interprofessional Education. Candace has committed her career to serving underserved populations such as individuals with developmental disabilities, elderly, and children.

Debra Schmidt, Member Services Manager (ext. 2)

About: Debra has over 12 years experience in local government community health initiatives, project management and communications.  She has a MPH from Northern Illinois University, BS in Management and Marketing and is a Certified Health Education Specialist.

Jennifer Hebert, Accountant (ext. 3)

About: With NNOHA since 2011, Jenn Hebert is a CPA. As the NNOHA accountant and finance coordinator, Jenn handles all NNOHA accounting and finance related inquiries and projects.

Contact for: Accounts receivable and payable, grant finance coordinator, and all other accounting and finance related activities.

Jodi Padilla, Project Manager (ext. 7)

About: Before joining NNOHA in 2014, Jodi worked at Children’s Hospital Colorado Foundation and Janus Capital Group. She has an MBA from National University and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from San Diego State University.

 Rachel Johnston, Manager of Administrative & Technical Services (ext. 8)

About: Rachel has a Master of Public Administration from the University of Colorado Denver and a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from Webster University. Before joining NNOHA in 2017, she worked in operations for an online start-up and in program management for a membership association.
