NNOHA’s Health Information Technology Committee put together an HIT White Paper. The paper includes an analysis of the different electronic dental records products currently available to Health Centers. It contains a wealth of information on the different requirements, both technical and operational, for a good electronic dental record product. It lists the various criteria that Dental Directors and their teams should look for when considering an electronic dental record (EDR) product, initial costs, and tips on how to write a Request for Proposal. The products are rated based on a list of criteria that the committee members felt important to the operations of a Health Center dental program. The costs to obtain each product including training and on-going support, the potential interface with other products, and the questions to ask when considering a Request for Proposal (RFP). There is also excellent information on digital radiography systems. Click here for a pdf of the document. |
