The American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) is sponsoring the Office Champions Tobacco Cessation Project, designed to integrate tobacco cessation activities into the daily office routines of Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC). The facility must be an FQHC and there must be a physician on staff who is an active member of the AAFP. As part of the project, the AAFP will educate “Office Champions” through an online training module, live teleconferences, and a practice manual. Practices selected to participate will receive materials for patients, and practices that complete the program will receive $2,000 to cover administrative costs and will be recognized for excellence in tobacco cessation.
