Community Health Centers Networked Research: One Strategy to Reduce Oral Health Disparities
Purpose:
The purpose of this NIDCR funded conference is to determine if Networked Community Health Centers Research can facilitate the acquisition of data that will inform policy, enhance quality care, and ultimately contribute to a reduction in health care disparities associated with oral disease. Networked Community Health Centers Research has been defined as the collection and analysis of data produced in community health centers that have agreed to share data and information, have developed the infrastructure to facilitate this process, and have chosen to collaborate in this research endeavor.
Aims of the conference:
1. Determine the advantages and challenges attendant to conducting networked oral health research in community health centers
2. Determine whether networked community oral health research is appropriate or feasible in the community health center setting
3. Determine whether networked community health centers research can provide the data required to inform policy, enhance quality, and contribute to reductions in disparities associated with oral health care.
