 Practice Management Resources
NNOHA currently has a Practice Management committee that is developing many of these resources. The items below are available and have been useful to other safety-net dental programs:
NNOHA Resources:
1. Dental Forms Library - a collection of forms, manuals, and resources used by various dental clinics.
2. Operations Manual for Health Center Oral Health Programs – NNOHA's Practice Management Committee is developing a Health Center oral health program Operations Manual.
3. NNOHA Technical Assistance Tool Kit - This document offers useful resources for new oral health programs and new Dental Directors.
4. Click Here to review the updated fee schedule based on RVUs and your calculated cost per RVU. You can enter your own cost per RVU ($45 is used for illustration) and your lab and/or supply costs for certain services. The Excel formulas will calculate the rest. Dr. Janet Bozzone added the CDT5 codes pertinent to CHCs, but did not remove some of the older codes that might be in there. Please remember that this uses Region II RVU values for known procedures. Since the Region II RVUs have not been updated recently, Janet extrapolated a guestimate indicated by an “E” in the first column. If you want to use the RVS data, you have to buy a copy of their .pdf file and manually override the values that are already in there. Please check the latest version of the CDT if you have any questions.

1. Mobile Portable Dental Manual - The focus of this manual is creating mobile/portable systems of care, using public health approaches, to serve populations in need.
2. Ohio Dental Safety Net Information Center - Although Ohio focused, there are currently 3 distance learning courses with nationwide CE credits. The rest of the content can certainly be useful to those across the country.
3. The California HealthCare Foundation published "Medi-Cal Physician and Dentist Fees: A Comparison to Other Medicaid Programs and Medicare"in April 2009. The document compares 2008 fees for several dental procedures for most states. Click on the link to read more.

7. Oral Health Research Citations from NNOHA's Health Center Fundamentals Chapter.
8. National Maternal and Child Oral Health Resource Center - Special Care: An Oral Health Professional's Guide to Serving Young Children with Special Health Care Needs. This series of five modules is designed to provide oral health professionals with information to help ensure that young children with special health care needs have access to health promotion and disease prevention services that address their unique oral health needs in a comprehensive, family-centered, and community-based manner. Four CE credits through the American Dental Hygienists' Association (ADHA) or through the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, the Indian Health Service (IHS) will be awarded upon successful completion of this course.
