1. “Health Affairs,” the policy journal of the health sphere, recently published an article on oral health policy. It offers examples of discrepancies between policy and needs and examples of successful interventions that integrate oral health care with informed policy. 3. JADA published an article about a 1-year study in motivating parents to prevent caries in young children in 2004. Read the entire article here.
4. The New York State Oral Health Coalition released its 2007 annual report. The report includes information on the coalition’s activities as well as data on New York ’s citizens. Read the entire article here.

11. 1987 Regional Program Guide - http://tinyurl.com/1987-RPG - This guidance on dental policy was published by HRSA's Bureau of Health Care Delivery and Assistance in March of 1987. An updated guidance is in development.
12. Ohio Safety Net Dental Clinics now offer continuing education (CE) credits to oral health professionals across the country for its three distance learning curricula. Two CE credits will be awarded to oral health professionals upon successful completion of each curriculum:

"Caries Prevention, Risk Assessment, Diagnosis, and Treatment" - Developed for clinicians working in safety net dental clinics. The modules provide a framework for assessing patients’ risk for dental caries and determining prevention, treatment, and education strategies based on that patient’s risk category. The modules also include information about dental caries prevention, examination, restorative treatment, and recall intervals.

"Oral Health Care for Young Children" - Designed to help clinicians learn about providing care to infants and children from birth through age 3. The modules provide clinicians with information about prevention, risk assessment, and anticipatory guidance. Also included is guidance on how to manage children's behavior, with information on expectations, parental involvement, and helpful techniques. Providing restorative treatment is covered, with an emphasis on decision-making, positioning, restoration options, and alternatives to restoration. Finally, the modules address the management of emergency oral health care.

"School-Based Dental Sealant Programs" - Designed to ensure that school-based dental sealant program staff have a thorough understanding of the history, operations, and underlying principles of effective programs. The modules provide detailed guidelines for infection control in school-based programs; discuss tooth selection and assessment for dental sealants; review the dental sealant application process; and provideinformation about program operations.
13. Oral Health for Infants, Children, Adolescents, and Pregnant Women Knowledge Path (MCH Library) - This knowledge path directs readers to a selection of current, high-quality resources that analyze data, describe effective programs, and report on policy and research aimed at improving access to oral health care and quality of oral health for infants, children, adolescents, and pregnant women.
