General Description:

The National Network for Oral Health Access (NNOHA) is a nationwide membership organization of oral health professionals and other supporters seeking to improve access to care for patients in federally qualified health centers and other safety net systems.


The Finance Director is a key leader responsible for overseeing all financial operations at NNOHA. Reporting directly to the Executive Director, the Finance Director will collaborate closely with the senior program team members and the Finance Committee to create and implement NNOHA’s financials initiatives and ensure accurate and compliant financial, accounting, and budgeting processes for the organization.


The position is part-time and requires 24.0 hours per week.


Primary Areas of Responsibility:
  • Provide strategic oversight and key guidance on all financial and accounting matters at NNOHA.

  • Develop and manage the organization's annual operating budget in collaboration with program staff and Executive Director.

  • Oversee all accounting functions including accounts payable, receivable, payroll, and grants management ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and regulatory requirements for grant management.

  • Work with the Accounting Manager to analyze and present monthly and annual financial reports in an accurate and timely manner and oversee financial, program, and grants accounting.

  • Work with program staff to manage grant revenue and ensure grant agreement compliance and assist with grant financial budget development.

  • Act as lead staff member on the Finance Committee.

  • Maintain Accounting Policy and Procedures Manual and ensure effective controls and records. Manage all aspects of the annual audit and Form 990 preparation and ensure proper and timely filings.

  • Oversee the use of NetSuite and NNOHA’s other financial systems to ensure operational efficiency.


Requirements and Skills 
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related field; MBA, CPA, or equivalent certification is preferred.

  • Proven experience as director of finance or similar role.

  • Deep experience in financial operations (accounting, budgeting, and grants compliance). Excellent communication and relationship-building with internal/external stakeholders, including the Finance Committee and proficiency in presenting financial analysis to non-financial stakeholders.

  • Knowledge of financial systems, tools, and data-driven decision-making.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with finance tech solutions preferred.

  • Experience in nonprofit accounting strongly preferred


Physical Demands

May spend long hours sitting and using office equipment. Occasional lifting of supplies and materials. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable otherwise qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.


Travel

This position requires occasional travel (paid at the organization’s expense). The Finance Director must be able to travel two to three times per year to attend NNOHA’s Annual Conference, Board and Staff Retreats, and other events as required.


Salary Range

24 hours per week; part-time (0.60 FTE), fully remote. Salary Range: $55,000 – $60,000
