Granville Vance Public Health is currently accepting applications for the full-time position of a General Dentist (Dentist II) for Carolina Fellows Family Dentistry in Oxford, NC. The employee hired for this position may apply for either the Loan Repayment Program or High Needs Service Bonus provided by NC Office of Rural Health, both of which are up to $100,000 for up to a 4-year commitment.

THE PRIMARY PURPOSE: This position will provide services both in our fixed clinic in Oxford and also in our school based mobile dental clinic. This position will be responsible for providing primary dental care to patients; diagnosing patient problems on the basis of history, physical examination, interpretation of x-rays, and the assessment of socio-economic and cultural influences while also being responsible the chairside supervision of Dental Hygienist and Assistants, as well as the promotion of dental health through educational and informational media. Work is guided by established dental health practices and is performed under the administrative supervision of the Health Director. The person in this leadership position will be expected to work in concert with the dental office manager daily.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Minimum qualifications for this position are licensed to practice dentistry in the State of North Carolina and “at least“ one year experience in the general practice of dentistry. Experience working with a wide range of patients is preferred including pediatrics, adults, medically compromised and those with extreme dental needs due to the lack of dental services and/or experiencing a dental emergency. Candidates should also be comfortable working with patients with a diverse range of backgrounds and those with limited English skills. NC Medicaid credentialed preferred.
