JOB DESCRIPTION: DENTIST
REPORTS TO: Chief Dental Officer
EDUCATION: DDS or DMD degree from an accredited school of dentistry. License in good standing to practice dentistry in the State of Texas. Maintain current CPR certification. Registered with DEA and DPS.
EXPERIENCE: Previous experience a plus but not required
SKILLS: Ability to diagnose and treat dental and oral disease. Knowledge of preventive dentistry and educational methodologies utilized in prevention. Skilled in oral operative techniques and ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients and staff. Working knowledge of the principles, standard practice methods and techniques of dentistry.
PRIMARY DUTIES:
• provide care in the following disciplines of a general dental practice: diagnosis, preventive dentistry,
operative dentistry, pedodontics, periodontics, removable prosthodontics, endodontics, fixed
prosthodontics, oral surgery and orthodontics
• help evaluate performance of professional and auxiliary dental staff
• attend conferences and meetings of dental importance as needed
• take part in the Peer Review process

• occasionally pushing, pulling and positioning (with assistance) patients over 200 lbs
• occasional exposure to electrical, chemical, gaseous and dusty conditions
• occasional exposure to patients with communicable diseases
• understand/carry out simple/detailed, oral/written instructions
• memorize and retain instructions
• read and interpret detailed specifications
