General Responsibilities: Diagnose and treat diseases, injuries, and malformations of the teeth and gums and related oral structures by performing the following duties. Required Qualifications: 1. Doctoral Degree Dental Medicine/Surgery 2. Active license to practice dentistry in Rhode Island 3. Tactful in dealing with patients 4. Ability to work with others Primary Contacts:
External/ Frequency: 1. Dentists: As Needed 2. Vendors: As Needed
Internal/ Frequency: 1. Patients: Daily 2. Dental Assistants: Daily 3. Dental Hygienists: Daily
Physical Effort/Environment: Some standing. Extraction of teeth. Also requires use of finger and hand manipulation using instruments and dental equipment. Work Schedule Demands: The normal expected number of hours for this position is 40. May occasionally work over 40 hours. Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written skills. Confidentiality of Information: This position has complete access to dental records and medical records if needed. Significant Job Functions:
Clinical: 1. Injections 2. Extraction of diseased teeth 3. Education of patients in oral dental hygiene 4. Design and making of dentures 5. Filling cavities 6. Performing root canals 7. Providing supervision to dental hygienists and dental assistants Administrative: 1. Makes chart notes 2. Referrals
