QUALIFICATIONS:

A. Licensed to practice dentistry in the state. 

B. Graduate of a formal accredited school of dentistry

C. Working knowledge of the diagnosis and treatment of dental and oral diseases

D. Working knowledge of the principles, standard practices methods, and techniques of dentistry. 

E. Working knowledge of preventative dentistry and educational methodologies utilized in prevention. 

F.  Skill in oral operative techniques

G. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients and staff. 


RESPONSIBILITIES: 

A. Provides preventative clinical services:

Prophylaxis of teeth

Sealants

Oral hygiene education

Baby bottle tooth decay education

Radiographs

Topical fluoride applications

Impressions

Coronal polishing

Amalgam polishing

Space maintenance

Root planning and curettage

B. Provides emergency clinical services: 

Extractions

Incisive and drain infections

Prescribes medications as needed

Treatment of oral trauma

C. Provides restorative clinical services: 

Amalgams

Composites

Crowns

Endodontics

Prosthetics

D. Diagnosis of dental and oral diseases
