Position Summary

The director of this Postgraduate Program will work with the Department Head and be responsible for the development of the curriculum, staff development, administrative and accreditation needs for the Advanced Education in General Dentistry Program. This position will consult and work with other departments across Mile Square, the College of Dentistry and UI Health to ensure successful program implementation.


Duties & Responsibilities


Assures program curriculum complies with and is consistent with the requirements for accreditation as set forth by the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) standards.

Oversight of AEGD staff for the service line including but not limited to schedules, productivity, documentation, and other compliance responsibilities. Assist the Department Head in developing and meeting educational, accreditation and productivity expectations for the service line and interview, hire, orient, lead, mentor, and evaluate performance of staff and residents to meet departmental, programmatic, and organizational needs.

Examine or conduct diagnostic tests on patients and to provide information on general physical condition and provide dental treatments as a staff dentist.

Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.

 

Qualifications:


Minimum Qualifications

DMD or DDS from a CODA accredited dental college required.

Illinois license to practice dentistry or Illinois license eligible, with current DEA and Controlled Substance License.

Completion of a CODA Accredited AEGD or GPR residency program

Documented clinical experience in a community- based setting.

Current Valid American Heart Association BLS/CPR certification.
