Chief Dental Officer Job Posting

Join Elica Health Center’s mission and become a part of a team where every day is an opportunity to make a positive impact in your community!

Job Summary

As a key member of the executive team, the Chief Dental Officer (CDO), under the direction of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), will provide leadership, strategic direction and and clinical dental oversight to Elica Health Center (EHC) clinical practitioners, ensuring the delivery of high quality dental care to the indigent and homeless populations of Sacramento and Yolo counties while remaining focused on our mission:

At Elica Health Centers, we share a common goal: provide the best possible patient care to our growing community. Our passion extends throughout Elica, from the exceptional healthcare services we provide to our underserved patients at our Community Health Clinics and state-of-the-art mobile medicine program, Health on Wheels, to our Resource Center where we empower patients and members of the community to connect with resources to help them build healthy and full lives.

You will work cooperatively with Senior leadership, collaborating across all health clinic services with the goal of fostering excellent patient care, standardizing clinical protocols, maintaining and monitoring dental care, quality assurance processes, and development of ongoing strategies and programs.

As Chief Dental Officer, you will foster a spirit of teamwork and unity among department members that contribute to the recruitment and retention of the dental staff, exhibit willingness to mentor, and will serve as a spokesperson for the Dental clinician provider staff and represent them at management meetings.

Elica’s Dental program includes comprehensive dental services, dental residency program, mobile dental program, and school-based dental program. We employ the latest technology to efficiently and effectively serve our Dental patients. Our state of the art Dental facilities are equipped with panoramic x-rays and digital intraoral scanners to take impressions and engage patients in their oral health care. Our dentists and residents are certified in the use of the 9.3 micron CO2 hard and soft tissue laser, which allows us to perform fillings without the need for local anesthesia. This laser also allows us to provide additional services to our patients such as gingivectomies and crown lengthening without needing to refer to specialists. Our electronic health records system is integrated with our Medical and Integrated Behavioral Health departments to allow us to work together to improve the overall health of our community.

Successful candidates will display exceptional leadership skills, and share Elica’s passion for expanding Dental services to Elica’s patient population and improving their oral health.
