Under the general supervision of the Director of Dental Services, the Pediatric Dentist diagnoses and treats diseases, injuries, and malformations of teeth and gums, and related oral structures to pediatric patients (ages 0-21).


Speciality training in Pediatric dentistry required.


Examines the patient to determine nature of condition.

Provides preventive dental care and pediatric dental care including restorative, oral surgery, stainless steel crowns.

Participates in outreach functions.

Participates in Medical Dental Integration programs

Educates patient/guardians in oral and dental hygiene.

Participates in collaborative efforts.

Collaborates in Quality Performance Improvement programs.

Provides instruction to dental assistants as needed.


Education: DDS or DMD degree from accredited dental school is required. Speciality training in Pediatric dentistry required.


Practice in community or public health setting preferable. Certification: Health Care District Primary Care Clinics providers must be licensed and registered as a DDS or DMD in the State of Florida.


Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.


Licensure: Unrestricted license from the Florida Dental Board. Registrations: Drug Enforcement Agency Controlled Substance Registration including schedules: 2, 2N, 3, 3N, 4, 5.
