As a non-profit, Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), we provide premier primary and preventive care you can trust at our 34 service sites strategically located throughout multiple rural counties.
We are currently seeking a part-time Dental Hygienist to join our dental clinic in our Valley-Wide Buena Vista Clinic in Buena Vista, CO. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing top-notch dental care to our patients, conducting cleanings, screenings, and educating them on proper oral hygiene practices.
Job Qualifications:
Oral prophylaxis.
Provide instruction for proper home care techniques for oral hygiene including proper tooth brushing, flossing, nutrition and need for professional care.
Topical fluorides.
Screens and evaluate patients regarding caries detection.
Periodontal pathology, medical history.
Exposing, processing and mounting of radiographs, following ALARA guidelines
Supra- and subhingival scaling and curettage.
Root planning.
Procedures involving team periodontal surgical techniques.
Administration of local anesthetics
Gross de-bridement in treatment of acute periodontal conditions.
Help train dental employees, teaching basic dental skills, radiographs, sterilization and how to assist the doctors.
Maintains patient recall system.
Maintains inventory of hygiene supplies and materials, as well as maintaining thorough and accurate documentation of inventory.

Education and Requirements
State of Colorado Licensure of Dental Hygiene
Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Dental Hygiene
1-2 years’ experience working in a dental clinic environment desired.
Successfully complete a background check and drug testing
Bilingual skills (English/Spanish) desirable but not required
