SUMMARY
The Dentist provides primary, preventive and restorative dental care to eligible patients at the Sulzbacher Clinics. The dentist is aware of budget parameters, manages medications, treatments, and referrals to other services as needed and as governed by approved dental protocols, and supervises dental assistants, hygienists, volunteers and students at his/her assigned site.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Clinical: Provides quality dental care to eligible patients including diagnosis, preventative care and treatment, medication management and referrals for other services as needed and as governed by approved dental protocols. Actively collaborates with other physicians/health professionals to ensure holistic patient care. Maintains documentation and patient records in accordance with regulatory and Center policies.
Supervisory / Administrative: Supervises Dental Assistants and Dental Hygienists as required; assists in the supervision and evaluation of dental students. May temporarily assume leadership of the Dental Clinic in the absence of the Clinic Director; may assume other administrative tasks as required.
RESIDENT, GUEST AND INTERNAL CUSTOMER FOCUS
The Dentist is sensitive to cultural, spiritual and practical needs of resident, families, guests and staff members in all interactions. He/she provides positive feedback and comments about the quality of work and effort that have been offered by patients, residents, families and coworkers, and adjusts priorities and schedules to meet specific customer needs. The Dentist reports and/or corrects problems related to safety, cleanliness and comfort of resident, patient and work areas, and follows Universal Precautions and Infection Control techniques. He/she demonstrates an understanding of their role in facility safety plans and procedures related to fire, weather and other disasters.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Qualifications:
Florida licensed dentist with current valid Florida dental license
This position is eligible for student loan reimbursement
Minimum of 2 years experience in a clinical setting preferred
Excellent interpersonal skills
Previous supervisory experience preferred
Ability to pass a Level II Background Screening
Physical/Mental Demands & Working Conditions:
Transportation and valid driver’s license
Physically able to work in a fast paced environment
Able to travel locally
Works in typical clinical office setting
Must be able to lift 20 pounds
