Dental professionals are pressed for time in the busy day of serving patients and want to do everything possible to provide optimal care for each patient during the appointment time, this includes the early detection of oral and oropharyngeal cancer. Dentists and dental hygienists often report not feeling completely confident when performing the visual and tactile, extraoral, and intraoral evaluation/EOIO, and lack calibration among providers in their dental setting.

Join oral cancer coach Susan Cotten BSDH, RDH, OMT, in this course to uncover components of a thorough EOIO, discuss components of the oropharyngeal evaluation, and review updated coding and dental and dental hygiene association oral and oropharyngeal cancer policies. The webinar is 1 hour, followed by a 15-minute Q&A. 1 CDE will be offered.

Objectives:
• List components of a comprehensive visual and tactile, extraoral, and intraoral evaluation.
• Name structures assessed in the oropharyngeal evaluation.
• Identify and document Tonsil grade.
