MAJOR FUNCTION:


Provide friendly, professional, and high-quality dental care to CompleteCare patients within a team-based, patient-centered dental home model of care. The Dentist delivers compassionate, mission-driven care while supporting CompleteCare’s commitment to improving access to oral healthcare in the communities we serve. The Dentist reports to the Chief Dental Officer.


ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:


- Perform routine dental examinations and provide comprehensive dental care including basic restorative procedures, full dentures, partial dentures, and simple extractions.


- Diagnose oral diseases and conditions.


- Promote oral health and disease prevention.


- Develop treatment plans to maintain or restore patients’ oral health.


- Interpret dental radiographs and other diagnostic tests.


- Ensure the safe administration of anesthetics.


- Monitor growth and development of teeth and jaws.


- Educate patients and their parents or legal guardians on maintaining proper oral health.


- Provide dental care to patients of all ages, including pediatric patients.


- Work collaboratively with dental hygienists, dental assistants, and other healthcare providers within a team-based care model.


- Provide clinical supervision to dental hygienists and dental assistants as appropriate.



OTHER JOB DUTIES:


- Maintain a safe environment of care for patients, staff, and visitors.


- Follow infection control protocols to reduce the risk of nosocomial infections.


- Interact with patients, visitors, staff, and outside agencies in a professional manner.


- Contribute to organizational performance improvement activities.


- Promote positive working relationships with supervisors, staff, and other departments.


- Collaborate with other departments to support the mission of the health center.


- Maintain strict confidentiality in accordance with organizational policies.


- Identify problems and develop recommendations for resolution.


- Demonstrate the ability to organize and prioritize tasks effectively.


- Maintain responsibility for ongoing professional development and growth.


- Participate in department planning activities and organizational committees as assigned.


Adhere to CCHN personnel policies.



QUALIFICATIONS:


- Graduate of an accredited school of dentistry with a DDS or DMD degree.


- Maintain a current, unrestricted New Jersey State Dental License.


- Maintain a valid Federal DEA Certificate and New Jersey CDS registration.


- Maintain a current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification (AHA BLS Provider).


- Comply with all required dental continuing education requirements.


- One to two years of experience preferred.


- Post-graduate GPR or AEGD training is a plus.


- New graduates and candidates completing GPR or AEGD programs are encouraged to apply.


- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.


- Ability to navigate electronic dental and medical record systems.


- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with all members of the healthcare team.
