Amy Whipple Derrick, MA

Professional Background: Amy has more than 25 years of non-profit administration experience including program development, leadership training, project management, event planning, marketing/promotion, community education, advocacy, fundraising, and cross-cultural relations. She has a Master of Arts in Education and a Bachelor of Science in Social Work with additional post-graduate education in marriage and family therapy and community education.  Amy is also a trained interpreter of the MBTI. 


Key Responsibilities: Amy joined NNOHA’s staff in 2015 and serves as the staff lead in planning the NNOHA Annual Conference.  She directs NNOHA's ADA CERP Continuing Education program, the NOHLI program, and the PCA Oral Health Collaborative.  She also leads NNOHA's Marketing and Communications initiatives.


Notable Achievements: Amy developed and led a program for 14 years that provided hundreds of college and graduate students with life-changing cross-cultural service opportunities.


Personal Interests: Amy enjoys reading and listening to audiobooks and challenges herself each year with a new reading goal.  She also enjoys walking/hiking, singing, trying new recipes, attending concerts and binge-watching shows with her family.  Amy lives in Gig Harbor, WA with her husband, two sons, three dogs, and a bearded dragon.


Fun Fact: Amy has lived in 4 countries and 9 states, and has visited 20 countries.
