PURPOSE
The Centers is a Federally Qualified Health Center looking for a Part-time Dentist; to cover every Tuesday and any additional days the acting dental director is out of the office for vacation or CE. The general duties and education requirements are listed below.
EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
• Must hold a Dental Degree (DDS or DMD) and be licensed to practice in the State of Ohio.
• Must maintain the appropriate CE requirements that are set forth by the Ohio State Dental Board.
• Must have BLS certification.
• Must have a DEA license or be eligible to obtain one.
SKILL AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
• Must have proficient computer skills and the ability to use a EHR (Electronic Health Record) System. Epic is used at our facilities.
• Ability to maintain a calm and professional demeanor with staff, patients, volunteers.
• The ability to be cognizant of our patient population unique health and socioeconomic needs.
• Must have excellent communication skills.
General Duties
• Review patients’ oral and medical history.
• Perform routine dental examinations, screenings, and preventive care.
• Diagnose and treat oral disease including cavities, gum disease, and other dental conditions.
• Utilize diagnostic tools such as x-rays and digital imaging to assess oral health.
• Create and execute personalized treatment plans for patients.
• Educate patients and caregivers on proper oral hygiene practices and preventive care.
• Offer guidance on nutrition and habits that impact oral health.
• Maintain accurate and up to date patient records, including treatment plans and progress notes.
• Collaborate with dental hygienists, assistants, and other departments to deliver seamless integrative care.
• Provide referrals to specialists when necessary.
• Ensure compliance with all dental laws, regulations, and ethical standards.
• Follow infection control and sterilization protocols to main a safe environment.
• Develop positive, professional, long term relationships with patients and their caregivers.
• Comply with HIPAA guidelines as all times.
• Participate in annual Peer Review.
