Phillip Thompson (he/him)
Executive Director
Phillip Thompson has served as NNOHA’s third executive director since June 2014. Prior experience includes serving as a chief financial officer for a community health center in Denver, Colorado. Before joining the CHC world Phillip worked in behavioral health administration at Children’s Hospital Colorado, and ambulatory care management at University of Colorado Hospital. A native of Fort Worth, Phillip has degrees in history and healthcare administration respectively from Baylor and Trinity Universities in Texas.

Dr. Irene Hilton (she/her/ella)
Dental Consultant
Irene Hilton, DDS, MPH served on the Board of Directors for six years before becoming NNOHA’s Dental Consultant in 2011. She is also a staff dentist at the San Francisco Department of Health.

Amy Whipple Derrick (she/her)
Project Director
Amy has been Project Director with NNOHA since 2015. She has spent her career serving non-profit organizations in the areas of program development, leadership training, project management, event planning, educational programming, advocacy, communications, fundraising, team building, personnel selection/training and cross-cultural relations. Amy has a Master of Arts in Education and a Bachelors of Science in Social Work.

Candace Owen (she/her)
Education Director
Candace has been a registered dental hygienist since 2013. She has a Master in Public Health and a Master in Dental Hygiene from the University of New Mexico. Candace has dental education and public health experience including interprofessional education, clinical dental hygiene, and underserved populations.

Debra Schmidt (she/her)
Member Services Manager
Debra has over 12 years experience in local government community health initiatives, project management and communications. She has a MPH from Northern Illinois University, BS in Management and Marketing and is a Certified Health Education Specialist.

Jennifer Hebert
Finance Director
With NNOHA since 2011, Jenn Hebert is a CPA. As the NNOHA Finance Director, Jenn handles all NNOHA accounting and finance related inquiries and projects.

Jodi Padilla (she/her)
Project Manager
Before joining NNOHA in 2014, Jodi worked at Children’s Hospital Colorado Foundation and Janus Capital Group. She has an MBA from National University and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from San Diego State University.

Rachel Johnston (she/her)
Program Manager
Rachel has a Master of Public Administration from the University of Colorado Denver and a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from Webster University. Before joining NNOHA in 2017, she worked in operations for an online start-up and in program management for a membership association.

Theresa Khong (she/her)
Accounting Manager
Theresa Khong was hired by NNOHA in June 2022 to assume day-to-day accounting management of all organization functions. She is responsible for financial oversight and management of day-to-day accounting and finance activities including budgeting, reporting, and financial grant management. Prior to coming to NNOHA, Theresa worked for many years as a senior accountant for not-for-profit organizations in the Denver area. She has an MBA degree from Regis University of Colorado.

Cathy Rogers (she/her)
Administrative Coordinator
The newest member of the NNOHA staff, Cathy Rogers began as NNOHA Administrative Coordinator in August 2022. She is responsible for administrative support for NNOHA’s continuing education program, NNOHA learning collaboratives, and several NNOHA committees. She has many years’ experience in nonprofit management and administrative support in Kentucky where she resides. She holds a bachelor's degree in Business Management from Carson Newman University in Tennessee.
