Cheryl Parker (she/her)
Executive Director
Cheryl Parker has served as NNOHA’s fourth executive director since August 2024. She has over 25 years of experience in organized dentistry and academic medicine. Prior experience includes working at the American Academy of Implant Dentistry, the American Academy of Periodontology, and the American Dental Association. Before her work with organized dentistry, Cheryl worked in academic medicine at the University of Illinois College of Medicine and Cook County Hospital/Malcolm X College. A native of Illinois, Cheryl has a Master’s Degree in Public Service Management from DePaul University and a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago. Cheryl works out of her home office in Chicago, Illinois.

Amy Whipple Derrick (she/her)
Senior Director of Programs and Communications
Amy has a Master of Arts in Education and a Bachelors of Science in Social Work. She has more than 25 years of non-profit adminstration experience including program development, leadership training, project management, event planning, marketing/promotion, community education, advocacy, fund raising, and cross cultural relations. Amy serves as the staff lead in planning the NNOHA Annual Conference. She directs NNOHA's ADA CERP Continuing Education program, the NOHLI program and the PCA Oral Health Collaborative. She also leads NNOHA's Marketing and Communications initiatives. Amy lives in Gig Harbor, WA and has been with NNOHA since 2015.

Candace Owen (she/her)
Senior Director of Education and Strategic Partnerships
Candace is a registered dental hygienist. She has a Masters in Public Health and a Masters in Dental Hygiene. Candace's clinical experience includes community health care settings, supportive housing facilities, and underserved populations like people with developmental disabilities. She has years of experience in dental academia, public speaking, and dental public health. With NNOHA, Candace develops resources for health care professionals in the safety net. She also supports strategic initiatives and cultivates partnerships to advance oral health access to people who experience barriers to care. Candace represents NNOHA on multiple advisory boards, workgroups, and committees. She is an active member of various public health organizations. Candace lives in Denver, CO and has been with NNOHA since 2017.

Debra Schmidt (she/her)
Director of Member Services and Outreach
Debra has over 12 years experience in local government community health initiatives, project management and communications. She has a MPH from Northern Illinois University, BS in Management and Marketing and is a Certified Health Education Specialist.

Denae Pinon (she/her)
Program Coordinator
Denae holds a bachelor's degree in psychology and biology from the University of Texas at El Paso. She brings over 6 years of experience in the nonprofit sector, focusing on program support, community engagement, and outreach. Currently residing in Las Cruces, NM, she joined NNOHA as a Program Coordinator in 2024, where she continues to drive impactful initiatives for underserved populations.

Grace Iverson (she/her)
Communications and CE Coordinator
Grace joined NNOHA in 2024 as the Communications and CE Coordinator. Based in Chicago, she holds a bachelor’s degree in Anthropology and Art History from Loyola University Chicago. With experience in museum education and design, Grace is committed to crafting visual communications that inform, delight, and inspire social change.

Jennifer Hebert (she/her)
Chief Financial Officer
With NNOHA since 2011, Jenn Hebert is a CPA. As the Chief Financial Officer, Jenn handles all NNOHA accounting and finance related inquiries and projects.

Jodi Padilla (she/her)
Project Manager
Jodi joined NNOHA in 2014 as Project Manager. She is a proven event and project manager with association, nonprofit and corporate experience. Before joining NNOHA in 2014, she worked at Children’s Hospital Colorado Foundation and Janus Capital Group. She has an MBA from National University and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from San Diego State University. She lives in Denver, CO.

Rachel Johnston (she/her)
Senior Program Manager
Rachel serves as the Senior Program Manager for NNOHA's training and technical assistance activities. She has a Master of Public Administration from the University of Colorado Denver, a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from Webster University, and she is a graduate of the Institute for Healthcare Improvement's Breakthrough Series College. Rachel lives in St. Louis, MO and has been with NNOHA since 2017.

Theresa Khong (she/her)
Accounting Manager
Theresa Khong was hired by NNOHA in June 2022 to assume day-to-day accounting management of all organization functions. She is responsible for financial oversight and management of day-to-day accounting and finance activities including budgeting, reporting, and financial grant management. Prior to coming to NNOHA, Theresa worked for many years as a senior accountant for not-for-profit organizations in the Denver area. She has an MBA degree from Regis University of Colorado.

Dr. Irene Hilton (she/her/ella)
Dental Consultant
Irene Hilton, DDS, MPH served on the Board of Directors for six years before becoming NNOHA’s Dental Consultant in 2011. She is also a staff dentist at the San Francisco Department of Health.

Luana Harris Scott
Conference Planning Consultant
Ms. Luana Scott is the Founder and Managing Member of On Par Productions (OPP), a successful conference management business. OPP facilitates in-person and teleconference meetings of diverse health professionals including researchers, physicians, executive directors, CEOs/CFOs, dentists, nurses and dental hygienists. OPP provides support services including securing meeting space, setting up meeting logistics, and preparing travel accommodations. OPP supports a wide-range of subject matters including health information technology, disease prevention, workforce, practice management, inter-professional clinical competencies, and safety net clinic resources including the NNOHA Annual Conference. Ms. Scott is an active member of Meeting Professionals International, and the Society of Government Meeting Professionals.
