ABOUT THE ROLE:


  • CHCRR Dentist will diagnose and treat Oral conditions and pathology.  Additionally, they will actively promote individual and population health.  A sensibility for health maintenance and illness prevention is expected.

  • CHCHRR is a primary healthcare organization.   Dentists must be knowledgeable and skillful in the delivery of oral health care.  Competent delivery includes the ability and willingness to continually participate in professional learning activities and advance dental understanding for all stakeholders.

  • CHCRR Dentists are important assets to the oral health of their patients and their communities.  This responsibility requires Dentists to be skillful problem solvers, critical thinkers and effective communicators.  CHCRR Dentists will conduct their activities with a durable professionalism and confidentiality.  CHCRR activities are compliant to HIPAA standards.

  • CHCRR Dentists will work in a team environment.   In this context, Dentists will be assigned responsibility for organizing, coordinating and supervising the professional activities of associated healthcare workers such as Dental Assistants, and Dental Hygienists.  Good business sense is an asset.

  • Dentists advocate for their patients and communities.

FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION:


Essential functions are those tasks, duties, and responsibilities that comprise the means of accomplishing the job’s purpose and objectives. Essential functions are critical or fundamental to the performance of the job. They are the major functions for which the person in the job is held accountable. Following are the essential functions of the job:


  • CHHCR Dentists will be expected to provide oral health services, advice and counsel to our patients

  • When appropriate, Dentists will refer and communicate with medical /surgical consultants.

  • Dentist’s work will be supported by appropriate clinical and administrative staff.

  • Clinical space, private office space, IT and decision-support tools will be available to every Dentist.

  • Clinical services are organized digitally, thus CHCRR Dentists are expected to organized their work utilizing the designed EHR.

  • Their work is expected to remain current, timely, patient centered and relevant.

  • Most Dentists are expected to equitably share in the weekday, evening, and weekend call responsibility.

  • Clinical performance and work efficiency data will be collected and reported to Dentists and regulators for the purpose of protecting patient safety, advancing the quality of patient experience and ensuring fiscal viability.

  • CHCRR Dentists are central stakeholders to these strategic goals.

  • CHCRR is a learning organization.  CHCCR Dentists will support this strategic perspective.

  • The dentist must be willing to occasionally work long and irregular hours.

  • Other duties as assigned

 


SKILLS REQUIRED FOR SUCCESS:


  • Favorable completion of college, dental school, internship, residency, and possibly fellowship.

  • Board Certification strongly recommended.

  • Must be eligible for licensing by the State of Vermont.

  • Knowledge and understanding of CHCRR policies and must adhere to them.

  • Knowledge of dental equipment and instruments to administer patient care and billable supplies to properly bill patient accounts for supplies used for dental care.

  • Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment

  • Ability to maintain a good professional relationship with patients, peers, staff,  administration and participates as a team member

  • Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.

  • Ability to diagnose and treat disease and injury.  Will be required to manage individual and population health.  Disease prevention is expected.
