DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF DENTIST


The DENTIST shall be in compliance with the mission statement and strategic plan of CHC.  Further, the DENTIST shall carry out the duties and responsibilities hereunder in a manner consistent with the hospitality program and human value system of CHC. The DENTIST will stay in compliance with CHC’s policies and procedures. 


Clinical Duties and Responsibilities

One of the stated purposed of CHC is provision of care across the life cycle of patients.  In support of this, the Dentist’s clinical responsibilities are as follows:


1.  The Dentist will be personally and actively involved in the dental care of the patient. This involvement will be directly through the provision or supervision of patient treatment, in all phases of patient treatment as applicable.


2.  The Dentist will follow the progress of patients through all phases of their treatment.  A positive working relationship with other health care providers, as well as other health care providers involved in Dentists patient’s care, must be maintained.


3.  The Dentist will supervise the activity of any and all dental assistants, dental hygienists or other healthcare personnel working in the dental offices of CHC.


4.  The Dentist must comply with CHC’s quality assurance system.


5.  The Dentist malpractice insurance is to be used only for CHC business.


6.  The Dentist will provide dental services to members of the Board of Directors since Board members are users of the health center.


7.  The Dentist will practice two chair dentistry.


8.  The Dentist will treat and serve all patients who present themselves for services, without regard to ability to pay, including staff.


9.  The Dentist is expected to talk and interact with all patients in the most respected manner.
