Connecting oral health, prevention, and whole person care.

The Prevention is Power Grant, a partnership between Henry Schein Cares and the National Network of Oral Health Access (NNOHA), supports safety-net oral health programs that are putting prevention at the forefront of care.  Because oral health is essential to overall health, this grant helps organizations expand preventive services, identify health risks earlier, educate patients, and strengthen connections between dental and medical care—especially for communities facing significant barriers to healthcare.

Each year, 10 qualifying safety-net organizations will receive up to $5,000 in donated Henry Schein Cares dental products in a one-time donation to support a defined prevention-focused or integrated-care initiative.

What Can the Grant Support?

The program will support initiatives that:

• Increase access to preventive oral healthcare

• Identify oral disease and related health risks earlier

• Incorporate appropriate health screenings into oral healthcare settings

• Strengthen coordination between dental and medical providers

• Improve patient understanding of the connection between oral and overall health

• Reduce preventable disease and the need for more complex treatment

• Develop approaches that can be sustained or replicated across the safety-net system

Who Should Apply?

The Prevention is Power Grant is designed for established safety-net oral health programs in the United States that serve patients experiencing barriers to oral and overall healthcare.

Eligible applicants must:

• Be a current NNOHA organizational member

• Operate an established safety-net oral health program

• Serve underserved or otherwise healthcare-access-challenged populations

• Propose a clearly defined prevention or integrated-care initiative

• Demonstrate the ability to appropriately use and track donated products

• Agree to complete a brief impact report

Henry Schein Cares Community Health Center Package

Each selected organization will receive a Henry Schein Cares Community Health Center Package, with up to $5,000 in donated products in a one time donation to help support the delivery of care. The package includes a broad range of dental and healthcare supplies, including preventive care products, patient oral hygiene supplies, personal protective equipment, screening equipment, clinical supplies, and other essential items.

Through the Prevention is Power Grant, Henry Schein Cares and NNOHA are investing in safety-net organizations that are making prevention a priority and helping patients see the powerful connection between oral health and overall health.

When filling out the application, please be as comprehensive as possible in your answers, as we receive many applications for a finite number of grants each year.
