The Staff Dentist is responsible for rendering quality dental care to patients of altura Centers for Health.  Dentist is further responsible for assuring efficient and adequate patient flow.  This is to include proper utilization of Registered Dental Assistants and Dental Assistants and is responsible to deliver quality care to all patients.

•Responsible to the Chief Dental Officer.

•Formulate plan of treatment for patient’s teeth and mouth tissue.

•Use masks, gloves and safety glasses to protect themselves and their patients from infectious diseases.

•Examine teeth, gums and related tissue using dental instruments, X-rays or other diagnostic equipment to evaluate dental health, diagnose diseases or abnormalities and plan appropriate treatments.

•Diagnose and treat diseases, injuries or malformations of teeth, gums or related oral structures and provide preventive or corrective services

•Provides direct patient care in the dental clinic.

•Assures adequate supervision of the dental assisting staff while performing services.

•Cooperates in activities with other operating units of the clinic (i.e. participation in health fairs, screening activities and community outreach)

•Responsible for following Clinic protocols and observance of current OSHA requirements and those particular to Altura.

•Teach promotion of dental wellness and disease prevention.
