The Lead Dentist is primarily responsible for ensuring clinical quality within the dental department.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Primary Accountabilities:
All job duties, responsibilities, knowledge, skills and abilities listed under the Dentist position.
Perform periodic chart reviews for dental providers.
Enforce all EHC policies, procedures and clinical guidelines throughout the assigned clinic site(s).
Responsible for personal, as well as, departmental full compliance with all applicable federal, state, local and center rules, regulations, protocols and procedures governing the practice of dentistry and the clinical provision of dental care including those relating to, but not limited to, personnel issues, workplace safety, public health and confidentiality.
Assist in the onboarding of new providers.
Provide consultation services for other providers regarding diagnosis and treatment planning options.
Provide mentorship and consultation services for other providers regarding the execution of dental procedures.
Keep the Dental Director, Lead DA and Clinic Site Manager(s) abreast of current activities and situations within the Dental Department.
Other duties as assigned by the Dental Director.
Education and Licensing Requirements:
Meet and maintain all criteria for Dentist Credentialing, including the following:
Candidate must be licensed to practice dentistry in the State of California
Current, valid and unsuspended dental license from the Dental Board of California
DEA license required
Current CPR certification required
Required Experience and Characteristics:
At least 5 years of clinical experience.
A strong commitment to serve medically underserved families.
Experience with Epic electronic health records and digital radiography.
Able to perform all aspects of general dentistry.
Abide by Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) in reference to all confidential information obtained through job tasks.
Ability to approach and interact with others in a warm, friendly and supportive manner, creating a climate of trust, consideration and mutual respect.
Additional Requirements:
Must have a current and valid California driver’s license and the ability to provide proof of personal auto insurance on the vehicle driven during working hours.
