SUMMARY: Provides outpatient supervisory and clinical services as part of AHS’s Dental and Oral Surgery Clinics; supervises, trains, and evaluates the work of RDAs and other staff; in partnership with Ambulatory leadership, plans, implements and evaluates ambulatory programs and services; providers direct client services.


DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: NOTE: Following are the duties performed by employees in this classification. However, employees may perform other related duties at an equivalent level. Not all duties listed are necessarily performed by each individual in the classification. 


1.  Supervise RDA performance as outlined by the dental board of California’s RDA allowable duties.


2.  Supervise dental laboratory and coordination/organization of dental lab patient cases.


3.  Develops, implements and evaluates orientation and training programs for RDAs.

    

4.  Coach and train RDAs for professional delivery on dental health to the general public and other staff.


5.  Lead the development, implementation and evaluation of standard procedures and interventions in Ambulatory Care.


6.  Confers with Clinic and Ambulatory leadership on specific case problems.


7.  Directs, evaluates and coaches the work of RDAs and other staff; assists in setting work standards and ensures professionals standards are maintained.


8.  Identifies and pursues necessary resources for patient care identifies and removes barriers for staff to promote service delivery.


9.  Leads huddles and meetings; works collaboratively with interdisciplinary team.


10. Supervise appropriate charting and ensures appropriate care and charting of direct reports.


11. Oversees clinical services to population of vulnerable, low income patients.


12. Provides coaching, training and ongoing consultation for staff; provides education as requested.


13. Performs other duties as assigned.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities as well as possession of any required licenses or certifications is qualifying.


Required Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent.


Required Experience: Three years’ experience working as an RDA; one year of experience in a lead or supervisory capacity.


Required Licenses/Certifications: Licensed as a Registered Dental Assistant in the State of California; BLS – Basic Life Support certification – issued by AHA – American Heart Association.
