The Iowa Primary Care Association is actively recruiting for a general dentist for a community health center in Des Moines, IA.
Position Details:
Eligible for student loan repayment up to $50,000 for two years of service (and renewal possible)
Clinic Hours: Monday - Friday 8AM – 5PM; no weekends
Avg # of pts seen per day: 13 with additional hygiene checks
Number of operatories: 9
Laboratory: external laboratories used for fixed and removable prosthodontic cases
X-ray: Digital
Current Staff: 1 FT General Dentist, 1 FT Hygienist, 2 PT Hygienists
Call Schedule: After 6 months of employment, dentists are expected to take call in 2 week increments approximately 3x/year. Not required to go into clinic while on call.

Additional info: diverse patient population with many Spanish-speaking patients and large pediatric patient population.
Requirements
DDS/DMD degree from an approved dental school
Current license to practice dentistry in the state of Iowa
Current license to prescribe narcotics used in patient care (DEA & CSA)
Current Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers Certification
Eligible for hospital privileges
Ability to consistently meet the departmental work schedule as designated
Ability to treat patients of all ages within the scope of general dentistry
Ability to perform surgical extractions
Ability to perform anterior root canals
Ideal Qualifications:
Bilingual in English/Spanish
Desire to pursue a long-term career in community health
GPR or AEGD residency completion
Interest and experience in pediatric dentistry and oral surgery
Benefits
Your experience and skills determine your base pay. The hiring range for this position is typically $150,000 - 170,000, though highly experienced candidates may earn up to $204,000 per year.
